AT A GLANCE

  • RUNJIN.85 brings together my personal running experience and my wish to understand scientific findings better and put them into practice.

What running gives me

Tie my shoes, put on my headphones, turn on the music. Then I head out.

The weather rarely makes the decision for me. Motivation doesn’t have to be there every time, either. I run, and along the way I notice how much this time gives me.

I get lost in my thoughts. Work through things that matter to me. Develop ideas. Sometimes it simply feels good to be out for a while and spend time with myself.

And afterwards, there is that feeling: I’ve done something for myself. For my body and my mind. That means a lot to me.

How good can I become?

Alongside that personal space, there is another side to running: I want to improve.

I believe I haven’t yet fulfilled my potential. I’m drawn to the question of what might be possible if I train with more purpose, understand the connections better and make more deliberate decisions.

That is why I’m interested in training methods, nutrition, recovery and scientific findings. I want to know what lies behind a recommendation. How thoroughly has it been studied? Who might benefit from it? What happens when I try it myself?

My first instinct is often to adjust every possible variable. I want to learn to set the right priorities. Which changes actually help me progress? What fits into my everyday life? And when would it make more sense to keep doing something consistently?

These are questions I want to explore openly at RUNJIN.85. That includes accepting that a study might challenge my expectations. Or that my own experience might turn out differently from what I hoped.

“I want to discover what is still possible — and share something of it along the way.”

New challenges are part of it

In 2027, I also want to try unfamiliar terrain. Alongside marathons, new challenges on the trails are ahead.

I’m interested in how I’ll handle them: different courses, longer efforts and situations where my previous experience can only take me so far. How do I prepare? Which expectations are realistic? What do I learn about myself along the way?

I want to share that process here — the preparation, the decisions and what actually happens in the end.

When someone takes something from it

There is another reason I want to share this journey.

Being able to inspire other people is one of my most rewarding moments. If someone finds something in what I do, what I achieve or how I think that encourages them, it means an incredible amount to me.

I like recognition. It motivates me. Especially in sport, I consider it a great compliment when someone takes inspiration from my example.

I want to be a role model for my family. Perhaps for friends, too, or people I have never met. To do that, I want to share my journey honestly — including the questions I cannot yet answer myself.

What I want to build

RUNJIN.85 is where I want to bring these things together.

My perspective on running. Experiences with training and equipment. Nutrition and recovery. Races, travel and new challenges. And scientific findings that can help put all of it into context.

I want to make clear what a statement is based on: research, my personal experience or a judgment that is still open to question.

Perhaps you’ll find information here that makes a decision easier. Perhaps you’ll recognise yourself in an experience. Perhaps you’ll feel encouraged to try something new.

I want to discover what is still possible — and share something of it along the way.
