Scope

This notice explains the processing of personal data when visiting RUNJIN.85 or contacting its operator. Personal data is information that can be linked to an individual, such as an IP address or email address.

RUNJIN.85 is a static publication website. It currently has no visitor accounts, comments, checkout, newsletter subscription or contact forms. Search filters articles already loaded in your browser; the search feature does not transmit search terms to a search provider.

Hosting and security: Cloudflare

The website is delivered through Cloudflare Pages and the Cloudflare network. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

Each request involves technical connection and access data. This may include your IP address, request time, requested URL and files, HTTP status, data volume, browser and device information, and a referring page if transmitted. Purposes include delivering the website, maintaining stability, and detecting and preventing abuse and attacks.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is the secure, reliable and efficient provision of the publication. Cloudflare processes data within its infrastructure and privacy terms; where it acts on my behalf, the applicable data processing terms apply.

Operational and security data is processed according to the purposes and retention criteria applicable to the service. Relevant criteria include necessity for delivery and security, investigation of specific incidents, and legal obligations. This notice does not assert a single fixed deletion period for all Cloudflare data.

Audience and performance measurement: Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to evaluate the publication’s usage and technical performance in aggregate form. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. This helps us understand interest in articles and languages and improve loading times and display issues.

A JavaScript file is loaded from static.cloudflareinsights.com. Measurements include page views, page paths without query parameters, referring pages and technical information such as browser, operating system, device type, country and loading metrics, including Core Web Vitals. Transmission necessarily involves connection data such as an IP address. According to Cloudflare, Web Analytics does not use cookies, persistent visitor identifiers or fingerprinting to recognise individual people. We do not use it to create individual visitor profiles, or add advertising pixels, session replays or our own event tracking.

Where providing and transmitting these measurements involves personal data, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is improving the publication using aggregate usage and quality information only. Please see the separate section on your right to object. Information about Cloudflare as a recipient and possible international processing is also provided in the hosting and international processing sections.

According to the current provider documentation, reports are accessible for the previous six months. Cloudflare describes unsampled measurement data for seven days, followed by a reduced, aggregated dataset. Dashboard availability does not promise a uniform deletion period for all technical connection data. Content blockers may prevent measurement; we do not bypass them.

Articles and images: Storyblok

Articles are managed with Storyblok, provided by Storyblok GmbH, Peter-Behrens-Platz 2, 4020 Linz, Austria. Article text is retrieved when the website is built and served as static pages; your browser does not itself call the Storyblok content API for article text.

Article images, however, are loaded directly from Storyblok’s image delivery service at a.storyblok.com. This transmits data including your IP address, the requested image file and technical connection information to the delivery infrastructure involved. Processing enables image display and appropriate sizing. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is the attractive and efficient delivery of editorial content.

Technical processing and retention follow the needs of delivery, secure operation and the service’s privacy terms. International processing may also be relevant for subprocessors involved.

Contact by email

If you email me, I process your email address, your name if provided, message content, attachments and technical transmission data to handle and respond to your enquiry.

For general enquiries, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is communication with readers and interested parties. Where the enquiry concerns a contract or pre-contractual steps you request, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies. Legally required retention is based on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.

The published Arcor email address uses the email service of Vodafone GmbH, Ferdinand-Braun-Platz 1, 40549 Düsseldorf, Germany. Messages are processed in the email service and, when handled, primarily in Apple Mail on my devices. Simple, completed enquiries are generally deleted no later than three months after completion, including associated attachments and corresponding copies in the trash. Contractual records, messages subject to legal retention requirements and content needed to address ongoing legal claims are excluded and retained only for the necessary period. Please do not send unnecessary health data or other particularly sensitive information.

Cookies, fonts and local features

The website code sets no cookies of its own and does not use Local Storage or Session Storage for visitor profiles. Statistical measurement with Cloudflare Web Analytics is described in the “Audience and performance measurement” section; no advertising trackers are embedded. Fonts are served with the website rather than loaded from an external font provider.

Your browser may store files in its normal cache. Contents navigation and section highlighting run locally in your browser. Non-essential storage access would require separate assessment and, where necessary, consent; strictly necessary access is subject to the exceptions in Section 25(2) TDDDG.

Clicking “Copy link” writes the article URL to your clipboard following your action. Existing clipboard contents are not read. For native sharing, your browser passes the title and URL to your device’s share menu after your click; subsequent disclosure depends on your selection and the service chosen. The website does not log your share or copy actions.

Instagram, Strava and other external links

Instagram and Strava are provided as ordinary links, not embedded feeds or widgets. These link elements do not load social plugins while you simply read the page. Following a link takes you away from this website; the destination service then processes data under its own terms. The Strava short link may first pass through a redirect service to reach the app or profile.

Prior or subsequent processing on external platforms is not controlled by this website. This also applies to other linked sources. The respective privacy notices apply when you use those external services.

Recipients and international processing

Recipients may include providers used for hosting, image delivery and email, and their necessary subprocessors. Disclosure to authorities or other bodies occurs where legally required or where permitted and necessary in a particular case to protect legal claims. Visitor data is not sold for advertising purposes.

Cloudflare and international delivery infrastructures may process data outside the EU or EEA, including in the United States. Cloudflare’s data processing terms provide for EU Standard Contractual Clauses and supplementary safeguards for restricted transfers. Storyblok’s processing terms also address third-country transfers and safeguards. Processing exclusively in Germany or the EU is not promised. You can request information about applicable safeguards and a copy using the contact address above; publicly available terms are linked in the relevant service sections.

Your data protection rights

Subject to the statutory conditions, you have rights of access (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18) and data portability (Article 20). You may withdraw consent at any time with future effect without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Please use the contact address above for requests.

You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR), particularly in your place of residence, work or the alleged infringement. For private organisations in Bavaria, you can contact the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA): Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany; postal address: Postfach 1349, 91504 Ansbach, Germany.

Right to object under Article 21 GDPR

Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. I will then stop processing the data concerned unless I demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds overriding your interests, rights and freedoms, or processing is necessary for establishing, exercising or defending legal claims. Please use the email address above to object.

Further information and updates

Technical connection data is needed to deliver the website to your browser; without it, the page cannot be provided. Email contact is voluntary; without a reply address I may be unable to respond. The website does not carry out automated decision-making, including profiling, under Article 22 GDPR.

This notice describes the current feature set and will be updated when functions or services change. Last updated: 20 October 2026.
